Jambol is ever green plant and it is found everywhere. The tree is 100 ft tall and 12 feet wide. Its leaves are shiny with smooth skin. Flowers are greenish-white and fragrant. The fruits are ½ to 1 ½ inch long, oval, green when unripe and purple when mature and dark blue when completely ripe.
It cures burning sensation and vomiting. The fruit promotes digestive functions and body heat. It is digestive in nature, stimulates liver.
Grind 100 gm root of jambol in 250 ml water and add 20gm sugar in it. Give this to the patient every morning and evening before meals. It is beneficial in diabetes.Boil 250 gm ripe jambol fruits in 500 ml boiling water for some time. Take off the solution from fire and crush the fruits. Strain the solution through cloth. Give this to the patient thrice a day. It controls diabetes and general weakness.
Give 20ml of juice of its fresh leaves with small amount of sugar mixed in it to the patient, thrice a day. It controls the bleeding from the boils in piles.
